Honorary Deputy Sheriffs Inc. Announces Countywide Fundraising Raffle
Next week marks the beginning of the First Annual Fundraising Raffle by the Butte County Honorary Deputy Sheriffs Association (HDS).
Since 1983, HDS has been an official auxiliary of the Butte County Sherriffs Office. From the beginning, our mission has remained constant: Help protect the citizens of Butte County through the support of law enforcement. Raising over $250,000 in support of Butte County law enforcement agencies, HDS has sponsored many useful tools from police dogs and bullet proof vests to bomb disposal equipment. We hope to continue this legacy with this years fundraising efforts.
In recent years, HDS has hosted concert series as a primary fundraising tool. With government funds drying up and resources dwindling given the current state of the economy, HDS has decided that now is the time to expand fundraising efforts by adding a countywide raffle to the mix. Thanks to the generosity of several Butte County local businesses, the first annual raffle by HDS boasts a wide array of exciting prizes and is predicted to be a great success. A complete list of this years raffle sponsors and prizes is attached and can also found on the website at www.ButteHDS.org.
Tickets can be purchased for just $10 from member of the Honorary Deputy Sheriffs. Proceeds from tickets sold by the Honoraries will go to the HDS target areas for the year. This years target areas include training for volunteer, certified law enforcement officers and assistance and support for criminal cyber crime investigators. Through these projects, we hope to increase the pool of trained volunteers available for law enforcement as well as provide local cyber crime fighters with the tools they need to stop this fastest growing crime in America.
Interested parties may contact HDS at the e-mail address listed on the website for further information. Drawing will be held at Woodstocks Pizza in Chico, CA on January 15, 2011 between 5-8pm. Woodstocks has generously offered to donate a portion of the evenings proceeds to HDS. Contestants need not be present to win and will be notified via phone or email. Winners will also be posted on the HDS website and can contact HDS directly to claim their prizes.
Thank You,
Fred Arn
