Before:

Help restore Captain Bob to its former glory!
July
10, 2006
On July 4, 2006, the
Captain Bob Pancake Wagon was destroyed in a fire. This is a tragedy for all of the citizens of Butte
County. ItÕs imperative that we
rebuild the Captain Bob for the benefit of the many community organizations
that use the wagon for their fundraising efforts.
In 1952 Sheriff Larry
Gillick started pancake fundraisers throughout Butte County primarily to raise
funds for Little League. The
original wagon was a 16Õ trailer.
In the late 1970Õs a new 8Õ x 40Õ pancake wagon was commissioned the
ÒCaptain BobÓ after Captain Robert Schwab who dedicated many hours to working
at the events and in the acquisition of the new wagon. For almost 55 years the SheriffÕs
Office has continued the tradition of assisting community organizations to
raise funds for youth projects throughout Butte County, such as Little League,
Soccer, The Boys & Girls Club, Veterans, and the Work Training Center. It is estimated that between $25,000
and $35,000 is raised annually to help sustain these activities.
This is why your help is
so vital to raise the necessary funds to rebuild the Captain Bob.
Approximately $30,000 is
needed to make this happen, and I believe it is possible because this is the
gift that keeps on giving to so many non-profit organizations. Please be as generous as possible and
send your tax exempt contributions to:
